Dear Friends,

I am honored to serve as your District 4 representative on the Denver City Council. I am asking for your support as I get an early start for my reelection campaign.

As promised, I continue to advocate for southeast Denver and to ensure that our voices are heard. Last year, more than 1,300 residents participated in our visioning process and told me what they love about southeast Denver and what improvements they’d like to see. Overwhelmingly, my southeast Denver friends and neighbors want improved restaurants and retail, safer and more walkable streets, increased arts and culture, and improvements to our parks, recreational assets and trails. With our community vision in place, my staff and I continue to work with community members toward our goals.

We are excited about South by Southeast: Southeast Denver's 1st pop-up festival to be held August 19th. With music, games, a community art project, food, and a beer garden, this one-day event will incorporate our visioning goals and allow us to imagine the possibilities. For more information please refer to the vision tab on my city council website.

Citywide, this is an exciting and transformative time for Denver. Our population is growing and economy is strong, but it’s not all good news. Traffic is getting worse. Many neighborhoods feel under siege by new development and increased density. Housing costs are high and the supply is low. I continue to work with residents, businesses and the public sector to find balanced and commonsense solutions to these and Denver’s many other challenges.

As Denver continues to grow and change, it is more important than ever to advocate for southeast Denver. Our unique corner of the city is home to some of the best neighborhoods, the most beautiful parks, great schools and five light rail stations. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been much positive public or private investment in the area. I am a strong voice for the district and will continue to advocate for resources and for our community’s vision.

Thank you for your support in the past. I hope I can count on your support for the upcoming election so I can continue to guide our great city into the future.
